Highway 78 Scotch Ale: Wagner Blend

BREWED JUNE 23RD, 2011

Brewmaster Mitch Steele, Green Flash’s Chuck Silva and Pizza Port Carlsbad’s Jeff Bagby created this intensely malty brew named after an 18-mile stretch of asphalt uniting our three breweries.

16 months in 44.5% Highland Malt Whisky Barrels / 44.5% Islay Malt Whisky Barrels / 11% Lowland Grain Whisky Barrels

CELLAR NOTES 
Stone President/Senior Brewmaster Steve Wagner loves Scotch whisky with strong peat smoke flavors. He selected Islay Scotch whisky barrels for their robust smoke and brine character, and Highland and Lowland Scotch barrels to round out the blend with vanilla and caramel tones for an intensely complex and malty beer.
