Always on the hunt for small-batch & experimental beers? Thursdays are your hot ticket! We’re tapping a special creation from the brewhouse at Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station, where our Brewing Manager, Kris Ketcham, conjures up a slew of unique and experimental brews. We pour through these limited-release beers until they run out, so early birds, worms: all that jazz.

Style- Amber Lager w/Hazelnuts, Honey, Habanero and Humor

Appearance- Clean Amber with an off white foam

Nose- Honey, nuts, toffee, malts, caramel, fruity, light peppers

Taste- Nose carries over with toasted caramel, hazelnuts, deep honey flavor.

Palate- Medium bodied with some honey sweetness and a lager crispness.

Overall- A Collaboration brew with the half hour happy hour for Hop Con. An interesting take on a lager that had to include 4 H named ingredients hazelnuts, honey, habanero, and humor (yep). Toasted Hazelnuts were added to the mash, while wildflower honey was added at 20% to the kettle. We went fairly light on the habanero and to bring about some of the peppers fruitiness. You may or may not get a little heat/warming after drinking a few ounces.

Reason Behind the name – Super Popular At ____ is a tag line that Alison and Alex and use on the happy hour. In this case since they were making beer they wanted to use it…I don’t name all the beers J
