Local Charities Think Stone's #8 Was Great
The Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival has come and gone, but the "giving" is just beginning. We were truly moved by the tremendous turnout and enthusiasm for the Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival and are excited to report that the money we raised for the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos, the Palomar Family YMCA, and the Surfrider Foundation was more than $39,000.

The support of our "dye-hard" fans was equally impressive when you consider that the people with the cobalt coiffures raised over $31,000 for the American Cancer Society, Children’s Hospital, and Locks of Love during Stone Brewing's "Make Your 'Do Blue" week. That means the total money raised for charity during Stone's annual event is more than $70,000 --- not too bad for a bunch of guys & gals who love beer and just want to try and make the world a little bit better place!

We would like to thank all the guest breweries, the food & water vendors, all the volunteers, and the local hair salons for making this possible. We're already planning for Stone's 9th Anniversary Celebration and would like to thank all the fans who have wrote in suggestions and comments on how to make things better. Clearly, the event needs --- and will get --- some important improvements. We're taking into account each and every idea and will make sure that next year is the best Stone Anniversary yet!

Just What The East Coast Needs, Another Salesman
Stone Sends Michael Saklad Out East

Stone is proud to announce that Michael Saklad, the former Stone guy for the Southern California Inland Empire and Tri-County area has been promoted to North East Sales Representative. His new territory will cover existing regions in MA, NY, Washington DC, Northern VA, and Eastern PA.

So what's this mean to you? Michael's in charge of making sure you have more places to buy Stone. If that wasn't enough he'll be promoting varieties of Stone you may not have tried yet, setting up special events (pint nights, beer dinners, special release tappings), and providing the website with specific locations of where to buy special releases (like the upcoming 2004 Double Bastard Ale). Yeah, we're talking about one guy here. To say he's enthusiastic about his new position would be putting it lightly. Saklad says, "I'm going to dominate the East Coast with the best beer in the country!"

We know he'll be representing Stone 24/7, so if you have questions or just want to say "welcome" give him a call.

His contact info at the office has stayed the same (760.471.4999 Ext 402) but his new cell phone number is 857.540.1747 or he can be reached at

Stone & The Arrogance Deemed Worthy Of A Little News

From Canada to the Internet, and from Alaska to good ol' San Diego, Stone Brewing has been making some headlines recently and we thought you might be interested in seeing what some of the journalists out there have to say.

According to the Anchorage Press "Stone Brewing has a right to be Arrogant."

The North County Times article entitled "Beer fans descend to swamp Stone party" chronicles a little of the Stone 8th Anniversary Celebration & Invitational Beer Festival.

The San Diego Union-Tribune did a nice piece on our crazy colored craniums.

In an article on American beers, The Toronto Star features Stone Brewing Co.
