Stone Delivery Trucks
Powered By Onion Rings?

One of Stone Brewing Co's eight truck fleet

John Egan, Stone Brewing Co. Lead Brewer, proudly showing off that his truck is fueled by biodiesel.
The onion rings that rose to fame over the years fueling fans at our Stone Anniversary Celebrations are now powering Stone in a whole new way. Unless you live in a hole, you've heard about the alternative fuel biodiesel (if not, here it is on Wikipedia). Inspired by our Lead Brewer, John Egan, who converts waste vegetable oil himself - we decided it's time to not only take used vegetable oil from the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and convert it, but to use biodiesel as well. Currently we are running our delivery trucks on B-20 (a fuel with 20% biodiesel), which equates to approximately 2,000 gallons per month of pure bio fuel being used. We hope to completely switch over to a B99 or B100 (pure biodiesel) later this year. Read more...

Speaking Of Going Green...
We just wanted to let you know, we aren't doing anything "theme-y" this Saturday for St. Patrick's Day. There's plenty of other options out there if you're looking for the green beer* and mass commercialization that has helped St. Patrick's Day become known as "Amateur Night" (that is, some people go out this night for no other reason than to get stoopid). If you choose to celebrate with us in a sane environment of great fresh food and an amazing selection of craft beers, we look forward to you joining us!

*If you're looking for green beer, we refuse to help you in that silly endeavor. If you're looking for beer with a ludicrous amount of green hops, then we have just the ticket. This weekend we have a special growler fill of St. Egan's Super Bombastic, Equally Fantastic Triple Dry Hopped Stone Ruination IPA.

John Egan
