There is no happenstance or coincidence. Dumb luck is a fallacy and randomness a commonly accepted mistruth. Much of what seemingly falls into place and seems so natural is a result of Stochasticity, a concept embraced and exalted by this special and unpredictable series of beers, where exotic notions, ingredients and ideas coalesce at an interesting and often unexpected endpoint.

The rules are simple. Each duo submits a brewing recipe that is later brewed on our five-barrel pilot system. No style of beer-ale, lager, session, imperial, mega-hopped, spiced, dry-hopped, barrel-aged, bacterially inoculated-is off limits. As such, the field of brews our judges (Co-founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner along with Brewmaster Mitch Steele) scrutinize is extremely varied.

The winners of the Stone Spotlight Series not only get their beer brewed, packaged and distributed nationally, they also get to go on-tour along with their champion creation and share pints of it with thirsty fans across the nation. Extreme brewer ingenuity and top notch beer deserve to be recognized in such a big way and we're happy to do so while allowing our fans to get to know the talented members of Team Stone.

We humbly admit that we were inspired to start brewing by other fantastic breweries and homebrewers. There are a whole lot of fellow craft brewers who we respect and admire, and who we've wanted to collaborate with. So why just dream about it? Starting in 2008, we released a new series of collaboration beers. The goal was to get three brewers from three different breweries to put their heads together and have some fun with no regard for boundaries. No restrictions on fitting a beer into a lineup, using familiar ingredients, conforming to preconceived beer styles, using tested procedures in the brewing process or even affordability. Each of these beers is the result of three brewers coming together and doing what they love. Therefore, many of our collaborations include ridiculous amounts of decadent ingredients without regard for shelf price. And because our collaborations are usually only brewed once, they can be rather difficult to find, and once they run out-they run out. Consider yourself warned.

If you're lucky enough to get your hands on these liquid tributes to the spirit of camaraderie, you'll agree that the end result is worth it.

For years, we've experimented with our beers, transforming them into unique variations of our legendary recipes. These phenomenal beers have never been bottled-until now. Our new Quingenti Millilitre series represents the most special beers we have to offer, bottled for the first time ever in very limited quantities.
