West Coast Pilsner. AKA Hoppy Lager. AKA Cold Pale Ale. Argue the name of the style all you want, but one thing is for certain: this is one crushable, quaffable, supremely refreshadelic beverage. Lighter-bodied and crisper than an IPA, fruitier and brighter than a pilsner, and smooth as block of ice. It’s so easy-drinking you’d hardly believe it was packed with prodigious amounts of Simcoe, Peacharine, Vista and El Dorado hops. In 2024 it was one of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Liberty Station’s greatest hits, starring in all of our summer sunset sipping. So naturally, we had to can it for the first time and share the wealth!
Tasting Notes
Featured Hops
Vista, El Dorado, Simcoe, Peacherine
Flavor Profile
Fresh orange, lemon, mango, peach, with a malt backbone and a dank finish.
Palate
Very crisp and clean with a touch of bitterness on the finish that accentuates the lingering citrus.
Appearance
Light straw color, brilliant, thin white head.
Aroma
Intense orange, lemon, and mango along with cereal and grain aromas.
Overall
Some of our personal favorites to brew/drink have been Session IPA’s, Cold IPAs, and American Style Pilsners. This beer combines the best of all those styles into this aromatic hop forward, light and crushable Pilsner.
