Stone 12.12.12 Vertical Epic Ale Aged in Red Wine Barrels

Belgian Strong Ale

The final, glorious chapter in our Vertical Epic Ale series, this dark and complex beer was brewed with Belgian yeast and a bevy of spices to create an incredible amalgamation of flavors ranging from fruit and molasses to cinnamon, allspice and coffee.

CELLAR NOTES
The beer’s winter spice, orange and coffee marry beautifully with the wine and oak from the barrels to produce flavors akin to nutmeg, wood, black currant, blackberry, pumpkin pie spice, cherry and dark-roast coffee. A secondary Brettanomyces fermentation gives this beer just a little more weight and a dryer finish, so it is less sweet with absolutely no alcohol burn. It’s the perfect winter warmer for the holidays!
