Posted on April 5, 2019My heart is broken. It’ll mend, but I’m gonna let it be broke for a bit.I love Berlin. And when you love something, it’s bound to frustrate you at times. Times like right about now.Today we announce we are transferring the ownership of the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Berlin facility to our friends at Brewdog. Brewdog has agreed to adopt what we’…
In the late summer of 2017 we debuted Stone Vengeful Spirit IPA, a tropical IPA brewed with pineapple & mandarin orange. Its purpose was to demonstrate the gloriousness whole fruit can add to our IPAs. It did so, with a vengeance. So we tasked ourselves with creating an even bigger and more aggressive version of the beer, packing it with extra hops alongside real citrus & tropical fruit.…
2016 marks our 20th anniversary year here at Stone Brewing! When we started talking about our annual Super Sunday kickoff, Calm Before the Storm, we knew we wanted to take the event to the next level. For me that meant the opportunity to share my love for amazing food and beer pairings. This year I’ve paired six…

Warning. This post is long. I've been advised that blog posts should be 475 words. I've opted to strap that advice to the back of caution and defenestrate ‘em both. Because it's important that I share these words from the people quoted below. They're important to me, and if you're here, I'd like to think that we place importance on similar things. At the top of…
As often happens with conversations like that surrounding Stone Brewing - Berlin, the positive voices are frequently drowned out by the negativity of a few. However, one might suppose that the detractors deserve to be heard too. So, to encourage feedback from both camps, I offer this format….
Here is my blogpost in its entirety, and the…
For this version of Stone Enjoy By IPA we thought: “We don’t always have a filter, so why should our beer?” By skipping a step and letting this devastatingly fresh, golden-hued double IPA go un filtered, the beer takes on a hazy appearance and its peach and tropical fruit hop aroma are intensified. So though it may sound like it, this missed step was no misstep.
Like the other IPAs in this…
Getting all aggro can sometimes be a negative. Getting aggro with your hops however? Awesome. (Try singing that aloud in your best Stone Aggro heavy metal falsetto). Equally awesome: getting aggro with hop agronomy. It's often a tradition passed down through generations, as is the case with Perrault Farms in Toppenish, Washington. Since 1928, the Perrault family and friends have honed their craft…
What is Stone Ale? It’s hop-forward, not hop-dependent. At 4.6% ABV, it’s a balance between Stone’s trademark hops, and China’s love of drinkability. Much like Stone’s birthplace of San Diego, it is laid-back yet full of character and nowhere near boring. The aroma pops with citrus, melon, malt, and a hint of white tea in the aroma. The taste has some melon, lemon, grapefruit, and stone fruit.
This massive imperial stout has been a favorite among our fans (and us) since its inception in 2013. As if the pecans, wheat and flaked rye weren't enough, we went ahead and aged 1/4th of this beer in bourbon barrels. The result is a whopping, intense, superhero of a beer with profound complexity that makes it ideal for cellaring... if you can wait that long.
I wrote this letter to Team Stone to share my experiences with them and express – as best I could – this incredible journey I’m on. That same gratitude for your commitment and desire to share this experience extends to you, our fans. Thanks for coming along on this ride with us.Notes to the team from the European tour with Metallica and Enter Night PilsnerTwenty-four-…
